Mark and I thought we'd have a nice day in the sun, and evidently so did about 500 other people. But the weather did not quite cooperate.
The forecast said it would be nice, but we were greeted with clouds and snow when we arrived. We decided to climb anyway.
Since I was back in the area, we flew out Mark, met up with Bruce and spent an awesome long winter weekend climbing all over the beautiful rock formations of Joshua Tree.
Took a few hours off on a warm Sunday to enjoy the granite at the Palace. Mark enjoyed it the most. His bruises from two good lead falls are worse than Vedauwoo!

The fall colors are out in Vedauwoo, so it was time to return to one of our favorite climbs: Ed's Crack.

Even Vedauwoo was starting to feel steamy at the height of the summer. We sought refuge in the dark shady valleys of the Blair Woods.
Or first weekend of climbing in 'Voo after our long trip to Italy. It was hot, we were tired, but we still got in some really great climbs!
The group got together for a picnic at sunset at Rotary Park, and of course we had to get in a little bouldering!
The whole gang gathered for a weekend of camping and climbing, including D-Liz's Mom! We managed to get lost in the woods, climb some serious off-widths, get stormed on, and nearly get stuck in an awesome chimney.
On Saturday, we gather Doug, Liz, TJ, Thomas and Nathan and climb on Poland Hill in sun and wind all day. On Sunday, Mark and I tackled a few routes on the Nautilus.
A whole, huge, group of friends, climbing and camping in the desert for three great days. What could be better?
Mark was on a different continant, so I gathered my friends for a fun weekend in 'Voo - chick style!!
It was a long winter, and Dylan and Ann jumped on the chance to join Mark and I for a spring weekend of camping and climbing at Vedauwoo.
Mark and I escaped the cold front range to climb ultra-classic trad on beautiful desert sand stone. Check out the pics from our climb up Otto's Route (5.8) - first ascended in 1911!
