Gallery | Climbing | Climbing on the Piedra River: July 4, 2011

While the grandparents played with Gabe in the springs, Mark and I headed into the San Juans to check out some great climbing local to Pagosa Springs.
Hiking back to the car, the San Juans are beautiful mountains

A big patch of poison ivy along the trail
River otters in the area - beware!
Views of the river from the approach and the crag
The river carved cliffs and caves from this lovely sandstone
A very picturesque approach, it's a popular day hike in the area

On rappel, check out that sandstone
The Piedra river flows through the wooded canyon
