Photos from hikes, treks, summits and backpacking trips that Mark and I have taken since the start of the blog.
Our for some long, distant sun rays in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies.

It was fun sharing our favorite fall colors hike with Gabe. He spent the afternoon in the backpack saying "oh wow! Oh wow!"

We spent a weekend exploring the wilderness areas north of Silverthorn, Colorado.

A weekend of camping and hiking in some beautiful, high-altitude regions of southern Wyoming.

Grandma and Grandpa kept Gabe busy at the campground, and Mark and I set off on the 6 mile hike to Bridal Veil Falls, in Rocky Mountain National Park.

We took the baby and the trailer up into the mountains for some spring-time alpine fun! Waterfalls, baby hiking, banjo playing and the prettiest campsite in the rockies.

Photos from some fun hikes, getting outside into the mountains, with the Gaby Baby. Devil's Backbone, Arthur's Rock, Golden Gate Canyon SP.

It's early fall in the mountains, and we went out to enjoy the first blushes of gold.

Mark's parents and brother head towards our neck of the woods for a vacation near Rocky Mountain NP. Mark and I take them on our favorite hike!

A cloudy, stormy spring afternoon seems like a great time to see if foothill wildflowers are blooming, and Horsetooth Falls are flowing.

In a desperate attempt to get outside between bouts of nausea, I decide to walk my dog and husband for a few miles along a relatively flat, but very nice trail in Lory State Park.

The day before the real snow blew in, we hiked to the summit of a local foothill, and enjoyed the early winter weather.

Dylan and Ann found a great hike for us in the desert hills south of Santa Fe. Beautiful desert vistas, long rolling hills, historic mines, and lots of sun.

We were hoping to climb the Cables Route (5.5) on Long's Peak, but plans, as often happens, fell apart.

We wanted to hike to Brown's Lake, but missed it due to storms this time. On our way, we summited the 12,000ft Crown Point and enjoyed some gorgeous mountain views.

We tagged along with a big group of Michiganders for a great hike to the summit of our 7th 14er!

Dylan and Ann are hiking the Continental Divide Trail across the state of Wyoming with their friend Pete during the month of July. Kate drove out to camp and send them off on their adventure, and got some fantastic photos of mountains in Wyoming.

Doug, Liz, Ashely, Mark, Kate and Liv limped the two steep miles up this mountain for a surprise, incredible, panoramic summit view.

We spent a sunny weekend exploring the mountains near Comanche Peak. The high places were just breaking into spring, too early for wildflowers but tons of running creeks and rivers.

It's never a bad day to visit RMNP. We headed up to where the road closed, hiked in snow and wind, and found lots of elk.

On the drive home from Fruita, we stop in Glenwood Canyon and hike one of the prettiest trails in Colorado.

Dylan and Ann came back to the Fort, we had Friendsgiving on Friday and hiked Greyrock on Saturday. Unfortunately, Dylan's knee injury kept him home, but we soldiered on without him and had a nice day.

Mark and I wanted to immerse ourselves in the yellow glow of autumn aspens, and we knew just the place to find them. The trail/road that runs up to West White Pine mountains flows through one of the largest stands of aspen in Larimer County.

Kate's parents and little brother were in town for the long weekend, so we spent Saturday up high in the National Park, enjoying the views, and hiking in the thin air.

Mark's parents and twin brother were in town for the weekend, so we went out for the classic Ft Collins hike up to Greyrock Mountain.
