Snowshoeing to Loch Vale: December 13, 2008
Sat 13 Dec 2008 01:15:13 PM MSTThe snow was falling, and we hiked out to the prettiest place in Rocky Mountain NP. Along the way, we found a new short cut, met a group of ice climbers, and had the whole Loch to ourselves.
Snowshoeing around Montgomery Pass: March 22, 2008
Our second (and likely last) snowshoe of the season took us to some incredible alpine vistas, and got us massively lost in the highest parts of the Rocky Mountains.

Reports of a credible wolf sighting inspired us to go explore some of the northern areas of the National Park on a snowy afternoon at the beginning of the year.
Driving through a blizzard: December 22, 2007
We hit heavy wet snow, blowing into white-out conditions and filling the interstate with piles of wet slippery slush just outside of Topeka while driving back to the midwest for Christmas. It sucked.
Snow on Greyrock Meadows Trail: December 9, 2007
After a week of heavy snow, Mark and I dug out our winter gear for the first snow expedition of the year. I forgot my camera battery, so I had to use the camera on my iPhone. Ick.

Mark and I chose a blustery spring day to try out the new snow gear and feel some high altitude for the first time in a few months. High altitude is cold.

Wed 14 Feb 2007 09:29:06 AM MSTDylan and Ann headed up to this alpine lake with Mark and I on a snowy afternoon. We met backcountry snowboarders, Dylan played with his split-board, and Ann, Mark and I experimented with yoga on a frozen lake.
