I went to the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, for a winter school. It was a great week and a great trip to an amazing, beautiful, ancient and special place.
The Church of the Holy Sepulcher

Touring Ein Kerem
Wed 14 Jan 2009 06:14:04 AM MSTOn Wednesday afternoon, the school sponsored a short tour of a beautiful town in the countryside outside of Jerusalem. We explored historic churches, lovely gardens, and quiet Israeli life.
Touring the Old City
Sun 11 Jan 2009 02:44:20 AM MSTOn Sunday after arriving, Rachel and I took a few hours to explore a bit of the Old City in Jerusalem. There were ancient relics, Roman-era ruins, Mosques, Churches, and Temples, and lots and lots of shopping.
